Oh yeah! Almost forgot. Once I get things settled here I plan on doing some tutorials for you all to try out. You are gonna be my guinea pigs! And honest unbiased feedback will be needed on them. That's the only way I can make them better. You can look for those to start sometime towards the beginning of March. If you could, I'd love for you to leave a comment and tell me things you'd like to learn how to do. Everything from basic techniques to advanced. Lay'em on me babes!

I know that sometimes commercial use items can be a tricky subject... everyone's work looking the same yadda yadda yadda. I have no intentions in offering certain kinds of elements. Because yes those can't really be changed all that much. Unless you do a lot layering and recoloring and just really manipulate.
I plan on offering a range of items: paper patterns both seamless and hand drawn (I love Illustrator!), textured overlays, styles, brushes, color schemes & maybe fonts,. You know, things that you can really make your own and unique. And well I super duper hate extraction work. LOL. If I can make it digitally, trust me I'm gonna go that route first. Then if I have to, I'll pull out the good ole' Nikon and my trusty-rusty light box.
Not everyone has the luxury of Adobe Illustrator. But if you do, and don't really know how to use it, I really suggest you jump right in and start playing. Buy some books and learn the software! It's amazing. Everything you see below started in Illustrator.

I've been in this business for a long time. Shorter than others yes but for a while. I mean when everything was made digitally and realistic looking extracted things where not the "in" thing. Three years to be exact. I've seen trends, designers, and stores come and go. One thing I've learned is that it's so important to stay true to yourself, don't make trouble for yourself needlessly, and stay of of drama that has nothing to do with you. You know don't put ripples in the water so to speak. But I feel a strong need to address peoples concerns with my actions. It's the right thing to do.
I've moved a total of 6 times in my three years. A lot to some, yes. But less than others. It's all about finding the right balance in your business. Things have been said about my latest move to Scrap Orchard. I am so happy there and they have welcomed me so completely. I appreciate everything they have done to make my transition easy and seamless. I'm happy with my decision to move there.
It's been said, "Oh she's moving yet again, she doesn't have good business practices, she never updates her blog, her CT never updates their blog either". And you know what? All this is so true. I suck at blogging. Of course I have my reasons but they don't really matter much. There's really no excuse. For that I apologize. I'm human and I can be neglectful when it comes to updating my poor little blog.
I'm very active in the forums I frequent. I always try to be approachable and a nice person. I guess that's my way of making up for my lack of blog posts. I try to do the right thing for my children and for myself. I'm a single parent of 2 kids now one of them being special needs, and well, I just get tired and things are let go and forgotten about as is the case with this blog. But that's really no excuse either.
It's always been my goal of course to keep it updated daily. I love giving out freebies and I love making new friends. All I can honestly say is that I'm sorry and I hope you all can find it in your hearts to forgive me. Please don't put any blame on my CT for not updating their blog. That all rides on me and I'm very willing to take the blame for everything. They are a great team and I love them all very much. They've been with me for a long time. Some of them since I started designing. They are loyal and they know I'm loopy and they lovingly keep me on task. I wouldn't take anything for them. We decided not to post in the CT blog anymore because we weren't getting the turn out we had hoped for and they were working so hard. I hated to ask them to do more than they were. It will be updated soon with pictures of all my current and new girls along with links to their galleries. And maybe their layouts as well. But that wont be ready till sometime at the around the beginning of March.
So I hope that this small explanation will at least smooth over some of the lumps and bumps. Please know that I will always try my very best to keep my blog updated.

I honestly wanted to keep the freebies up for longer but I've exceeded my bandwidth with 4shared!! LOL. I refuse to upgrade the already pricey account I already have with them!! You'd think they'd cut a girl some slack or something! I've been with them for 2 years now! So I'll have to wait to post a new one next month and maybe see about increasing my bandwidth if I'm gonna be giving out the occasional freebie. I'll have to see what's in the ole budget for next month . So for those who have sent me such sweet emails asking about the freebies I'm so sorry. They won't be going into any store because they are retired. I just brought them back for a bit of fun. I appreciate all the nice comments and interest in my work. That truely makes me feel very special.
So I'm working on a Valentines kit and it's going slow! I think I must be the slowest person ever! I have my moments when I'm cranking out the goodies and then sometimes it takes me a while. I hate that so much! I'll try to get a few sneak peeks on here soon!
I've been sick and completely lost my voice. My children have taken full advantage of the fact that they can't hear me when I call them. Little buggers.
So is everyone done with Christmas shopping?? I think I might be! I'm so happy about that too. I tell you, it get's more and more expensive every year. This year my daughter wanted yet another (her third in fact) American Girl doll with her accessories and her book. Is it me or do they all look the same?? And they're so expensive. And my son is all about Bakugan (did I spell that right?) I'm not even sure what they heck they do or what they are for or what the purpose of them is. But he loves them.
I would just love the Mary Kay skin care line but that's wishful thinking. lol. But honestly Christmas for me is more about my kids then myslef. I just love to see their little faces light up when they see their Christmas goodies for Santa! It makes my day for sure.
